Audreyana Nash
I am an analytical chemist whose primary interest lies with chemical instrumentation and method development. Be it liquid, gas, or isotope ratio, my goal is to master the technique of mass spectrometry. Since my research field and interests change with time, I wish to have a set of skills easily transferable to any situation which may require them. For my Ph.D., I intend to take an extensive look at the chemical and analytical processes involved in compound specific isotope analysis of amino acids. The aim is to identify which methods have the highest potential for variability, thus resulting in limited precision and accuracy in the obtainable results. In the past, I have also done work with creating, optimizing, and applying analytical methods on various instruments for compounds such as energetic materials (explosives), organic pollutants, and volatile organic compounds. When I'm not attached to a mass spectrometer, I enjoy traveling, going to concerts, and playing Legend of Zelda & Pokemon.
